Register of Aboriginal Veterans of South Australia:

Register of Aboriginal Veterans of South Australia (RAVSA) has collected nearly 500 names of Aboriginal servicemen and servicewomen from the Boer War to the present day.

Aboriginal families and keen researchers have provided the names and stories that appear on the Register. Reconciliation SA is pleased to host the RAVSA on its website. Our goal is to improve and extend the information available in the Register. We will do this by:

1. linking names to the individual’s service records in the Australian War Memorial and National Archives (coming soon)

2. finding out the identity of service personnel in the ‘Seeking Further Information’ section of the RAVSA.

All efforts are being made to authenticate information relevant to Aboriginal servicemen and servicewomen. In the event that family members are concerned about the history of their relative on the RAVSA, please contact us at reconciliationsa@adam.com.au to have this concern expressed.

Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people are advised that these lists contain the names of people who may have passed away.
