The annual Lowitja O'Donoghue Oration is an important event in the Dunstan Foundation's calendar. It is an event that honours the resilient and powerful Aboriginal leader, Dr. Lowitja O'Donoghue AC CBE DSG, and gives a voice to the many vital issues still alive today in the strive for equality for our nation's first peoples. This event is proudly held each year as part of the Reconciliation Week celebrations around the country.
In 2016, the annual Lowitja O'Donoghue Oration will be delivered by The Hon Reverend Dr Lynn Arnold AO. Ordained a Minister in the Anglican Diocese of Adelaide, former Premier of South Australia, former Chief Executive of AnglicareSA and CEO of World Vision for many years, Lynn is a well respected academic and influential public figure in South Australia and beyond. His oration topic, Lingua Nullius: A retrospect and prospect about Australia's first languages, will explore the importance of indigenous language in preserving and honouring this rich culture.
Tickets are available through the Don Dunstan Foundation's website.
