The formalities of the breakfast began with The Message of the Timpilya (Music Sticks), symbols of the Journey of Healing that express the need for Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal people to work together to heal the wrongs of the past. To learn more about the Timpilya Ceremony see below.
Following this amazing ceremony Scott Jnr and Jake Rathman entertained the crowd of over 650 people with songs about the Stolen Generations. With healing firmly in the attendees' hearts it was then onto Ken Wyatt AM, MP to speak about what the Apology meant to him and his experiences growing up with a mother who was a member of the Stolen Generations. Ken spoke with passion in a powerful address that urged the people gathered to come together in a spirit of healing and recognition. To read Ken's presentation see below.
